Dental Implants · North Plainfield, NJ
A replacement tooth that behaves like a tooth.
Se habla español — le explicamos el tratamiento en su idioma.
An implant replaces the root as well as the crown, so it does not rely on the teeth beside it and it does not come out at night. We place and restore implants in-house at our Watchung Ave office — no referral across town.

What we treat with implants
One missing tooth or a whole arch — the approach changes, the principle does not.
A single missing tooth
One implant and one crown. Nothing is done to the healthy teeth on either side, which is the main advantage over a traditional bridge.
Several missing teeth
Two implants can carry a bridge across a gap, so you do not need an implant for every tooth you have lost.
Implant-supported dentures
A denture that snaps onto implants instead of resting on the gums. It stays put when you eat and it stops the bone loss that makes old dentures loosen.
Bone grafting
When a tooth has been missing a long time the bone shrinks. A graft rebuilds enough width and height to hold an implant securely.
Extraction and implant planning
If the tooth still has to come out, we plan the extraction around the implant from the start — that often preserves bone and shortens the timeline.
Digital imaging
Panoramic imaging shows us the bone, the sinus and the nerve before we start, so placement is planned rather than estimated.
How the process runs
Consultation and imaging
We check the bone, the gums and the bite, and tell you honestly whether an implant is the right answer or whether a bridge would serve you better.
Placing the implant
A small titanium post is placed in the jaw under local anesthetic. Most patients are surprised how straightforward the appointment is — it is usually easier than the extraction was.
Healing
Over roughly three to six months the bone grows onto the implant and locks it in place. You wear a temporary in the meantime if the tooth shows when you smile.
The crown
Once the implant is solid we attach a custom crown, shaded to match the teeth around it. From that point you brush and floss it like any other tooth.
Cost and insurance
Implants are usually quoted in stages — the implant, any grafting, and the crown. We give you the whole figure up front, not one piece at a time.
- We accept most major dental insurance plans and will check what yours contributes toward implant treatment.
- We do not accept Medicaid at this time.
- Coverage for implants varies widely between plans — some pay toward the crown only. We will tell you which before you commit.
- Ask about payment options if you are replacing several teeth.
Common questions
How long does the whole process take?
Typically three to six months from placement to final crown, because the bone needs time to fuse to the implant. Grafting adds a few months. It is not fast, but the result lasts decades.
Does getting an implant hurt?
The placement is done under local anesthetic and most patients report less discomfort than they expected — often less than the extraction that preceded it. Expect some soreness for a few days afterward.
Am I a candidate?
Most adults are. What matters is enough healthy bone to hold the implant and gums free of active infection. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes lower success rates, and we will talk to you about that honestly rather than after the fact.
Implant or bridge?
A bridge is faster and cheaper up front but requires cutting down the two healthy teeth beside the gap, and it typically needs replacing in ten to fifteen years. An implant costs more initially and leaves the neighboring teeth alone. We will lay out both.
How long do implants last?
The implant itself can last a lifetime with good hygiene and regular checkups. The crown on top may need replacing after ten to twenty years, the same as any other crown.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Treatment planning, consent and aftercare can all be handled in Spanish. Se habla español.
